My wife saw something on facebook to 'Register to Receive your FREE RainMate'. It was a surveyMonkey that she had to fill out and today, we just got a call that she 'won'.
They said they wanted to come by our house to drop it off and we told them to call us next week because we were busy. They say that this is normally $150 but we are getting it for free. My scam-radar went off that there HAS to be a catch.
Has anyone ever heard of this one?

Cumberland air solutions were at an event holding a giveaway for their rainmate air purifier. They said to fill out a card and I would be entered into a drawing to win a air purifier. I filled out the card and dropped it in the bowl. 4 days later I received a phone call from Peggy saying that I had won a air purifier. They said they would send a representative to bring us our purifier and show us a floor model. After talking to a friend who also won, I was told they come and bring you the purifier then pitch to you for an hour a rainbow vacuum that is over 1,000 dollars. When Peggy called to reschedule our appointment I told her I want the air purifier I won but I do not want a sales pitch for a vacuum I don't need because I don't have carpets. Peggy's response was 'okay bye.' No where did it say on the card I filled out that if I won I could not receive the purifier unless I sit through a sale pitch. I was also not told that when the guy working the booth that that was the only way yo...
Here are some tips on how to save money on the ongoing cost of running your air purifier:
Keep the house clean. The more dust and contaminants you remove from your home, the better your purifier will work. Eliminating dust from the home before it has a chance to reach the purifier means your filters will last longer.
Ask smokers to take it outdoors. If you have smokers in your home, have them step outside to smoke. This helps preserve the cleanliness of the air inside the home. Cleaner indoor air means the air purifier has fewer toxins to filter, allowing filters to last longer.
Buy an energy-efficient purifier. Some air purifiers are better at running at low power than others. Granted, you won’t save hundreds of dollars in energy costs by picking an Energy Star unit. Nevertheless, an energy-efficient unit will save you a bit of money in the long run.
Invest in washable filters. If the cost of replacement filters overwhelms you, consider buying a purifier with washable filters. You can reuse a washable filter multiple times.
